Refuge Space—One hour of calm

february 19, 7-8p CT

A live session with guided meditation, reflection, and writing

Life is busy and full—you don’t have time to pause and breathe, let alone nourish your heart. Let me hold space and provide guidance (you don’t need to DIY your whole life!).

Refuge Space includes guided meditation and journal writing, as well as movement and stretching—things you don’t make time for in daily life. Within an hour, you can restore and ground; you can come home to yourself.

A month without Joy and Refuge Space is like a month without sunshine! Sharing space with Joy and others is healing for me. I come away refreshed and with one small step I can take in my life; a step I wouldn’t recognize or do otherwise. Listening to Joy’s kind, soothing voice is like a comforting blanket. Refuge Space is an investment in me!

does this sound familiar?

  • You rarely have time for yourself.

  • When space arrives, you’re too exhausted to know what to do with it.

  • You crave calm yet aren’t sure how to get there.

  • You need accountability to look and tend inward.

  • You seek quiet in a noisy world.

Let me help you…

ground yourself in the present moment.

reflect on your inner and outer life.

move forward with intention.

Here’s how refuge space works…

  • We meet live (via Zoom) from 7-8p Central Time.

  • Joy leads you in meditation, journal writing, and reflection around a theme.

  • You show up just as you are! (No meditation experience required.)

Besides having dedicated “me” time in Refuge Space, I love the combination of meditation and writing. It’s a powerful mix that allows me to be present and write down what’s in my heart. In doing so, I connect ideas, go deeper, and embody what’s coming up from Joy’s prompts in a way I wouldn’t otherwise.

Theme for February Refuge Space

We’re so much harder on ourselves than anyone else in our life. But to love our people well, we need to care for ourselves. Self-compassion is both honest and kind. We see clearly—our strengths and our imperfections—and we love ourselves through the tough stuff. In this session, you’ll experience a variety of self-compassion practices. You’ll emerge softer, kinder, and more courageous.

Upcoming refuge space sessions…

  • March 19: Find balance at the equinox

  • April 23: Springtime intentions

Refuge Space is my monthly oasis. It’s a designated space to reconnect with my breath, reflect, and simply be (even when life gets busy). Joy is a wonderfully caring leader. I feel welcome to show up just as I am, whatever that looks like, and I leave each session with a sense of connection and ease.

FAQ

  • No meditation experience needed! I guide the mindfulness practices. It’s easier to meditate with a guiding teacher and supportive group.

  • Your camera can be on or off—you choose! Refuge Space lets you show up just as you are. At the end of each session, I invite community sharing via the chat, but it’s not required. Participate or observe—both are welcome.

  • I know life interrupts in unexpected ways. I record each session, so you can watch and experience the practices at a different time. If you want to join live, I’ll move your registration to the next month’s Refuge Spacejust let me know!

Refuge Space gives me a dedicated, scheduled hour to devote myself to self-care. I love this rejuvenating process. It’s a welcoming, safe, comfortable group.
