Day 6: What's Real (there's good in the world!)
I paused this video series. On Wednesday, I was shaken and raw. “Ordinary” business seemed unimportant. I took time to reflect, process, and feel.
This morning, I gathered with my meditation group via Zoom. I saw the goodness in everyone. Ordinary, amazing, beautiful goodness. Twenty people committed to awareness, compassion, and community.
On Wednesday, we witnessed greed, violence, and hate. It’s heavy. It’s complex. It’s painful. And still, there’s so much good in the world. Every day, people go to work in hospitals, schools, and grocery stores. They help and serve. They listen. They smile. They make our lives a little better. Every day, people work toward justice. People volunteer their time. People do the good right in front of them. This doesn’t make the news. This kind of good doesn’t storm the capital. It quietly happens all around us and within us.
